The theme for August is - Journal Entry.
Give us pieces you'd write as journal entries. The good, the bad, the honourable, the wicked. Whether you write this entry as catharsis, confession, or even conspiracy. The issue will be curated as a large exhibition of intimate journal entries. Go wild with your creativity!
We ask for first publication rights, archival rights and the right to display the work as a whole, or pieces thereof, for the duration of the magazine. All rights revert back to the author or artist after publication. Please credit Ayaskala as the original publisher in case of future re-publishing or re-prints.
By submitting you give us permission to use your piece(s) in print version, digital version, and/or offline spaces with your knowledge.
Simultaneous submissions are acceptable. Please let us know as soon as your piece is accepted elsewhere.
Please wait out 1 issue before submitting again. Refrain from submitting to two consecutive issues.
Sticking to the theme is important. The theme can be interpreted openly.
Submit pieces of one form of writing in one document itself. Submit separately for different forms of writing.
You will receive a response after 2 weeks of submission. If delayed, please nudge us by sending an enquiry via e-mail on info [at] ayaskala [dot] com.
We do not accept previously published work.
We do not accept submissions via e-mail. Any submission received through e-mail will be automatically discarded.
We do not accept submissions that are unkind, harsh, homophobic, condescending, sexist, racist, religiously driven, dismissing in nature, etc.
We do not tolerate plagiarism. If a piece you are submitting is a response/continuation of an existing work, please make it crystal clear and credit the original writer.
We may remove a piece of work at any point, for any reason, with a day's notice which may or may not disclose the reason thereof. (psst... don't worry we're nice people and we know you've read the guidelines properly.)
